Holiday Party Time!

Post by Howee on Sun Dec 02, 2012 1:05 am

It's gettin' close to Grimble, an' time fer our party!

We usually has an Elf Hunt (kind o' like hide an' go seek, pirate style). Some people has mentioned that they'd like to have other games an' stuff as well. Please post yer ideas here!

I'd like to have our treasure pool built up fer prizes. Two ships (yes, SHIPS!) has already been donated. It don' has to be that big, ye can donate a pair o' socks to the treasure pool if ye likes. Or ye can donate PoE (to me or another Royal); just let us know it's fer the treasure pool an' we'll pick somethin' out fer ye.

In years past we has also had a gift exchange, where we picked names from the mates who want to participate. Some of us were talkin' an' we discussed a white efelant gift exchange. Whaddy think? Likes one o' these ideas, or both? Post it here!

We also needs to plan a date an' time. Wit' so many people busy on the weekends, we usually try to has the party durin' the week at night. I'm suggestin' Wednesday the 19th at 7:00 pirate time. This is just a suggestion - we wants to have it when as many pirates as possible is available so....ye gots it, post here what works fer ye!

OK, here's the plan!

The holiday party will be next Wednesday, Dec 19, at 7:00 pirate time. We're having it at the flag hall. (Thanks to everyone who has offered up their abode for the location. The hall will be big enough for everyone and their guests and is open to all in the flag.)

The Secret Grimble Claus has won! This is the basic gift exchange, where you get the name of someone to buy a present for. You can get several small things or one large, all need to be within the PoE amount. We'll swap gifts during the party. I'm thinking a 2500 PoE limit is enough to get something decent, but not too high for those of us who don't make as much PoE. Does this amount sound good? Should it be higher or lower?

PLEASE respond if you do want to participate in this! Posting here is the easiest, or you can find a royal in game. Names need to be in by 10:00 pirate time on Saturday, Dec 15th and you'll be given the name of the person you're buying for on Sunday, Dec 16th.

I'm setting up a separate section for letters to Grimble Claus. You want to write one, otherwise you're secret Grimble will have to guess (and we don't want that happening, unless they're really generous......)

There will be other festive activities as well. Tell all yer mates an' hearties!

sign me up yea tho I think maybe a range for the gifts is would be better? , I know last year the limit was 10k (so maybe saying 2.5-10k for the gift) That way it gives us a bit more flexibility for gifts ^_^ (I know I can't think of anything to buy for less than 5k >.< but I have expensive tastes when it comes to giving >.<)

The limit can be higher - I don't recall what it was last year (Howee has problems remembering last week some days.....). Maybe 7500-10,000 PoE? (And if you pull my name, Dagger, feel free to spend more!) :D

Spout - aye, we're going to have the Find the Santa/Elves. I have you that volunteered to be an elf, and I'm going to be an elf (green!). We need a few more so if you see anyone in game that is elfish, ask 'em if they fit into elf-size clothes.
